Review meeting on measles rubella vaccination in WJH

JOWAI/Shillong: The office of the District Medical and Health Officer, West Jaintia recently held a review meeting on Measles- Rubella Vaccination Campaign (MRVC) in the conference room of the Deputy Commissioner’s office. D M Wallang, Additional Deputy Commissioner chaired the meeting in the presence of all stakeholders.
The meeting was focused on achievement of the various health facilities. It may be mentioned that Laskein and Amlarem Block had good immunisation coverage of 97% and 94% respectively in this campaign. The area concern is Thadlaskein Block which is having low performance due to a number of reasons.
Wallang stressed that these areas should be revisited along with proper information to the headman, VECs, school teachers and people so that they do not miss out the opportunity. The MRVC in the district has reached 93.45 % mark till November 7.
EJH achieves 95.3 %
on MRVC
East Jaintia Hills district has achieved 95.36% in Measles-Rubella Vaccination Campaign (MRVC) having vaccinated 55,003 children out of a target of 57,682 children till November 3. The district officials were able to immunize refusal pockets with MR vaccine in areas such as Kairang, Nongthymme, Suchenrim and Mulait village with the help of village headmen and pastors who visited the villages. Parents are requested to bring their children for immunisation.
