Pahambir SC win 1st Nongpoh Football League

Nongpoh: Pahambir Sports Club defeated Lumkya Football Club 5-4 goals through tie-breaker in the final of the 1st Nongpoh Football League after the match ended in a draw at full time. Organised by the Nongpoh Sports Association at NSCA playground, Pahamsyiem, the prize distribution ceremony here was attended by Umsning MLA Jason Sawkmie Mawlong, Meghalaya Football Association CEO Arki Nongrum, Ri Bhoi District Sports Officer PM Marbaniang and others. Pahambir SC took home the trophy and cash award of Rs 20,000 while the runners-up won Rs 10,000 and a trophy. The prizes were presented by Mawlong and Nongrum, respectively. Individual prizes were also distributed during the day with Baiaishah Makri winning the ‘best player of tournament’ award and Cleophas Makri winning the top scorer award. Both players are from Pahambir Sports Club.
