TURA: Representatives of all Anganwadi projects from entire Garo Hills converged at the 24th Annual Conference of the All Garo Hills Anganwadi Workers’ Association (AGHAWA) held at Mendipathar in North Garo Hills recently.
Chief Advisor of the Association, Rakkan M Sangma was the Chief Guest on the occasion in the presence of various organization leaders and distinguished guests.
During the conference, several resolutions were taken by the association which included the decision to urged the government to provide quality food supplement as desired by the beneficiaries and the society and to ask for assistance for mini anganwadi workers.
The meet also raised concern over the delay in payment of honorarium to the workers and resolved to serve an ultimatum to the government. It also resolved to demand from the government to enhance the honorarium at the rate of Rs1500/- per worker.
