TURA: The Garoland State Movement Committee (GSMC) in Tura has demanded eviction of all non-tribal hawkers from Tura Super market area who are setting up their shops on pavements.

In their complaint to the West Garo Hills Deputy Commissioner, the committee said that setting up of their shops on both sides of the road was not only inconveniencing pedestrians but also causing losses to the government in terms of revenue as none of them are license holders.

The committee gave the district administration till Saturday (Nov 16) to evict the illegal hawkers and warned that it would do the same on their own if it was not done.
