Deficit teachers demands implementation of 5th Pay Commission

SHILLONG: The Khasi Jaintia Deficit School Teachers Association (KJDSTA) on Saturday elected B Khongjirem as its new president and also vowed to continue its fight for full implementation of the 5th pay Commission for deficit teachers.
Speaking to media persons after the meeting, outgoing KJDSTA president, ED Nongsiang said the meeting also decided to extend financial support to the Greater Phulbari Retired deficit school teachers who are contesting a case in the court for pension.
“We have also decided that the 5th Pay Commission should be fully implemented for deficit teachers in Meghalaya,” Nongsiang said.
Meanwhile, Nongsiang also added that the association will submit its views and recommendations on the service rules for deficit teachers by February next year. The association also elected new office bearers.
