SHILLONG: KHADC Executive Member Latiplang Kharkongor said residents of border areas have been directed by the council to register their land.
Kharkongor — while replying to a motion raised by PDF’s Morningstar Mawsor on the need for maintenance of land records in the border areas of Meghalaya and Assam — said that the Sordar raid, Himas etc have been asked to maintain land records.
Mawsor claimed that Assam has been encroaching on the land as residents from Meghalaya do not go for land records.
