Nagaland CM invites former chief ministers to Hornbill
SHILLONG: Nagaland Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio has invited the former Chief Ministers of the state namely, S.C. Jamir, K.L. Chishi, T.R. Zeliang and Shurhozelie Liezietsu to attend the inauguration of the 19th Hornbill Festival at the Naga Heritage Village, Kisama on Saturday. Seats of the former chief ministers have been reserved on the dais along with Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh and Kenneth I. Jester, Ambassador of the United States of America to India who will attend the programme as chief guest and guest of honour respectively. Personal invitations are also being dispatched to the former chief ministers. Governor of Nagaland will be the chief host while Rio will be the host of the festival.

Two held for illegal selling of railway tickets
MALIGAON: Drives against person/agency selling railway tickets illegally have been intensified further in recent times. Railway Protection Force (RPF) has been arresting touts in many locations throughout the N.F. Railway by conducting special checking.During one such drive, Inspector RPF Badarpur S.A Khan along with Assistant Sub-Inspectors Asish Das and Arobinda Roy conducted raid at Hi-Tech System, located near Police Point S. T. Road, Badarpur, Karimganj in Assam and apprehended the owner of the shop identified as syed sadikur rahman. Rahman has sold tickets illegally worth Rs. 1, 85,280. In this regard, a case has been registered at RPF Post, Badarpur vide No. 159/2018 dated 15.11.20418 u/s 143 Railways Act. In another incident, Crime Prevention and Detection Squad (CPDS) Team from Maligaon and New Jalpaiguri along with Inspector RPF/CIB/Alipurduar P. P. Jha and staff of New Jalpaiguri Post apprehended one person namely Pradip Paul (60) of Jalpaiguri with recovery of two railway journey tickets. The apprehended person along with the seized items was handed over to RPF of New Jalpaiguri who registered a case vide No.564/18 dated.10.11.2018 U/S 143 Railway Act.

Militant arrested in Manipur
Imphal: An active cadre of the proscribed militant outfit People’s Liberation Army (PLA) was arrested by a combined team of Manipur Police and the Army during a search operation at Tera Lukram Leirak area in Imphal West district. The arrest was made on November 24, said a press release issued by PRO, Manipur police. A case has been registered at Lamphel police station and further investigation was on, it said. (PTI)
