BSF IG visits GH border areas

SHILLONG: The Inspector General BSF Meghalaya Frontier, L Mohanti, paid a visit to the border areas in Garo Hills accompanied by DIG, Sector HQ Tura to review the security scenario in the state and to check the status of border fencing, floodlight and border roads.
He also visited the war memorial at Kilapara in West Garo Hills to pay homage to BSF soldiers who were killed in the 1971 Indo-Pak War. The names of the 9 soldiers are engraved in golden letters on the war memorial. He also laid a wreath at the memorial.
The IG also interacted with the troops and praised them for their work. During the visit, he also met officials of the Border Guard Bangladesh and handed over sweets for the BGB troops and complimented them for cordial relations being maintained by the two forces.
