Accidents
On November 17 around 11am, one Mahindra pick-up (ML-08E-5091) met with an accident in Araimile, Tura. Omar Faruk sustained injuries and was taken to the Civil Hospital in Tura.
On December 9 around 7:30 am, one bus (AS-17B-8043) met with an accident at Panbari NEC Road in West Garo Hills. One minor identified as Saiful Islam (14) died on the spot.
On December 9 around 8:05 pm, one Maruti car (ML-10B-8073) driven by Lascretice Lyngdoh knocked down one pedestrian identified as Kamal Nath at 16th Mile in Byrnihat. The victim sustained injuries and was admitted at Shillong Civil Hospital.
On December 9 around 9:56pm, one Maruti Alto (ML-10B-3003) capsized at Umtrew in Ri Bhoi. The driver sustained injuries and was taken to Umsning CHC.
On December 7, one bus (ML-08C-0279) driven by Rakseng Sangma met with an accident at Dadenggre in West Garo Hills. Bablu Sheikh (48) died on the spot, while a number of passengers sustained injuries. The victims were all taken to Tura Civil Hospital.

Assault
On December 7 around 5:30 pm, two masked miscreants assaulted Amar Das of 20th Mile in Byrnihat and threw him off a building. According to the victim, the miscreants were demanding Rs 1 lakh. Das was later taken to Nongpoh Civil Hospital.

Domestic violence
Meena Bagdash lodged a complaint stating that on December 6 around 9:30 pm, her husband Ravi Bagdash under the influence of alcohol, verbally abused and physically assaulted her at their residence in Jhalupara.
Fire wreaks havoc in GH
On December 8 around 10:00am, a fire broke out in a house belonging to Shitu Rul and damaged twelve other adjoining houses at Nama Bazar in Williamnagar. The loss of property is estimated to be around Rs 9,80,000 including Rs 3 lakh cash.

NGT violation
On December 7 around 2:15 am, Police detained one coal laden Mahindra Bolero pick-up (ML-05M-9481) at Umiam in Ri Bhoi.

Theft
N Lyngdoh, Asst. EE, PWD (Roads), NH Sub-Division, Shillong lodged a complaint stating that unknown miscreants had stolen some of the Convex Mirrors installed at different junctions and black spots from Civil Hospital junction to Umphyrnai in East Khasi Hills.
On December 8, unknown miscreants stole one motorcycle (ML-05L-0172) belonging to Satish Singh from Pynthorumkhrah.
Rafchan Zane Sheikh lodged a complaint stating that on December 5 around 1:00am, unknown miscreants stole two mobile phones and one laptop from his house at Ichaguri village under Monabari OP in West Garo Hills.
