SHILLONG: Health and Family Welfare Minister AL Hek on Friday said government jobs in the state have saturated and students should look for career options outside Meghalaya.
Addressing a gathering at the convocation ceremony of the sixth phase of a training programme run by Meghalaya Information Technology Society (MITS) and Arena Animation Shillong (Global InfoTech), Hek said students should think of moving out of the state to build a career and the government “will help them if they face any problem”.
The minister encouraged the youths to challenge and empower themselves with new-age skills in IT.
MITS and Arena have tied up to provide graphics and web-based training to local youths.
The programme is being implemented in phases. Twenty-five students took part in the sixth phase of the training and completed their training at the centre.
The health and family welfare minister congratulated the students who had completed the graphics and web-based course.
