SHILLONG: East Khasi Hills SP Davis Marak has said 10 persons who have been summoned in connection with the petrol bomb attack at the BJP office here were earlier involved in similar incidents.
Talking to media persons on Tuesday, Marak said those who were called for questioning had earlier been arrested in similar cases and later they turned out to be KSU members. “We have summoned them since the modus operandi in this incident seems to be similar to the incidents which happened last year,” he added.
The police will summon more people based on the CCTV footage that they have collected.
The police also have description of the miscreants from witnesses and they are investigating to see if the descriptions match with the suspects.
Earlier, 10 KSU members were summoned by investigating officer MN Sangma for questioning at Sadar police station.
Unidentified miscreants had hurled petrol bombs at the BJP state headquarters in Shillong on January 6 soon after the Lok Sabha passed the controversial Citizenship (Amendment) Bill, 2016.
