Illegal coal mine detected in EJH

SHILLONG: The East Jaintia Hills District Administration recently detected an active coal mine at Jarain but the labourers working in the illegal mine managed to escape.
Seventeen gelatin sticks, twelve detonators, one water pump, one drilling machine and two solar plates were also recovered from the site.
Executive magistrate Alwin K Fancon had lodged a complaint on Wednesday stating that the illegal mine was detected while conducting raids along with police at Sakhian, Jarain and Ongjiri.
Meanwhile, on Thursday around 4 am, police detained two coal-laden trucks (ML-05H-1228 & ML-05E-8815) at Shangbangla Weighbridge in Ri Bhoi
