TURA: Citizens of Tura have received some respite from the gruelling three hours of load shedding during the late hours of the night in view of the 145 ABDK Soba, the biggest religious event in Garo Hills.
The load shedding that was in place from midnight till 3am every day since January has been halted for this week, beginning Tuesday night, until the conclusion of the religious event.
“There will be no load shedding in Tura town during the Soba. Other areas of the district will continue with the power cut as per the schedule,” informed West Garo Hills deputy commissioner Ram Singh while speaking to The Shillong Times on Tuesday night.
