SHILLONG: Commandant of the 1st MLP Battalion, Claudia Lyngwa, will be the new SP of East Khasi Hills district with the state government effecting a major reshuffle in the state police on Friday.
As per the notification issued on Friday, the incumbent East Khasi Hills SP, Davis Marak, has been transferred as SP (Security).
The reshuffle saw East Jaintia Hills SP, S Nongtyngner, who has been in eye of a storm after the assault on activist Agnes Kharshiing and her aide Amita Sangma last year, transferred as SP, Anti infiltration Directorate. He will be replaced by Vivekananda Singh , Commandant, 4th MLP Battalion.
M Kharkrang, Special Superintendent of Police (SB-I), has been transferred as Assistant Inspector General of Police (R ) while West Khasi Hills SP, GD Kharwanlang, has been posted as Special Superintendent (SB-I).
Bobby SW Momin, Superintendent of Police, South West Garo Hills, has been transferred as Special Superintendent (SB-II) while Maxwell B Syiem has been posted as SP, South West Khasi Hills.
South West Khasi Hills SP, Herbert Lyngdoh, has been transferred as SP, Economic offence wing, CID while SP Traffic, BJ Ialoo, will now be the SP of West Khasi Hills.
Deputy Commandant of 4th MLP Battalion, Bikram Marak, will be the new SP Traffic of East Khasi Hills.
Ri Bhoi SP Spill Thamar will replace Bikram Marak as Commandant, 4th MLP Battalion, while C Syrti, Commandant, 6th MLP Battalion, will be the new SP of Ri Bhoi.
Mary Sangma, 2nd in command, SF 10, is now posted as Commandant, 6th MLP Battalion.
Rituraj Ravi, SP (Security), has been transferred as the new SP of South West Garo Hills while Debangshu D Sangma will be the new Commandant of 1st MLP Battalion
Lethindra Sangma, ASP of East Jaintia Hills, will now be the Deputy Commandant, 3rd MLP Battalion while Chauenlai Sangma will be the new ASP of East Jaintia Hills.
Kamakhya Prasad, Deputy Commandant, 4th MLP Battalion has been transferred as 2nd in command, 1st MLP Battalion, and TC Chacko is the new Deputy Commandant of 3rd MLP battalion.
Rangkitbok Tariang will now be the SDPO, Amlarem, while Jason Myrom will be the Assistant Commandant , 4th MLP Battalion.
