SHILLONG: The tussle over allotment of symbol in Jaiaw constituency was finally resolved after the candidate of Khun Hynniewtrep National Awakening Movement (KHNAM) was allotted the dao symbol on Tuesday.
The KHNAM candidate, Strong Pillar Kharjana got the dao symbol while his opponent Thomas Passah, who was also demanding the same symbol, finally preferred ladder as his election symbol.
Tuesday was the distribution of election symbol.
KHNAM being a registered un-recognized party had preference over the independent candidate and hence the symbol of dao went to KHNAM.
Since there was no other choice, Passah was allotted ladder symbol.
