Conrad condemns terror attack

SHILLONG: Chief Minister Conrad Sangma on Friday said that the sacrifice of the brave CRPF jawans killed in the suicide blast in Kashmir’s Pulwama will not go in vain.
“They fought to protect our country, I express my deepest condolences to the family members of the brave soldiers”, he said in a tweet.
Later, Sangma told reporters that Thursday’s act of terror was condemnable and must be dealt with firmly. “I think that the country is completely united and with the government,” he said.
He further said that the Prime Minister has held a meeting and a firm message has been sent that action would be taken.
Meanwhile, a two-minute silence was observed on Friday at the NE Sector HQ of CRPF here where all officers and men took a pledge in support of the families of the martyrs.
Prakash D, IGP, observed that the CRPF men laid down their lives for the unity and integrity of the country and their sacrifice would be remembered for ever.
The IG also promised that all financial help will be released as soon as possible.
