Nun faces fraud
Sr. Alice Mathew of 108 Upland Road, Laitumkhrah, Shillong lodged a complaint that on January 22 between 10 am and 11.30 am, she received an anonymous phone call, wherein the caller introduced himself as Fr Vincent, a priest from Salestian Don Bosco Institute, and told her to help the Church in social charitable activities by paying Rs. 46,500/- through Bank Account transaction. Later, the complainant realized that she has been cheated.

Theft
Soumyadeep Chakraborty lodged a complaint that on February 13 around 11.30 pm, miscreants in a vehicle (number not known) chased him from St. Peter College to Dylan Café and snatched one laptop and one cell-phone.
On February 14, between 3 am and 4 am, miscreants stole one Bolero (ML-08F-3979) belonging to Lakajus M Sangma from Lower Hawakhana, Tura (WGH).
Sumitra Upadhaya lodged a complaint that on February 13 around 2.45 pm, one Winky Mawthoh was caught red-handed while he was attempting to commit theft at Lower Mawbah, Shillong. Later, he was handed over to Police at Jhalupara OP. Police arrested the accused.
Dr Jasmine SR Marak lodged a complaint that on January 19, miscreants stole her motorcycle (ML-08-7322) from her residence at Lower Mission Compound Chandmari, Tura (WGH).

Accident
On February 14 around 10.30 am, one Bolero pick-up driven by Karan Singh Bisak (25) capsized at Snalgre (WGH). As a result, the driver and four occupants sustained injuries and were shifted to CH Tura.

Assault
Nilanjan Bhattacharjee, President, RR Colony Welfare Society, Shillong lodged a complaint that on February 13 around 2 pm, a group of miscreants entered RR Colony, Shillong with provocative slogans, pelted stones at the shops and also assaulted some persons. As a result, some persons sustained injuries and were shifted to CH Shillong.

Murder attempt
Betsy D Sangma lodged a complaint that on February 12 around 9 pm, one Rikku R Marak attempted to murder her daughter Sengmatchi D Sangma by stabbing her with a sharp object.
Ainora Litep of Thadsning village (WJH) lodged a complaint that on February 9 around 3 pm, her brother Riminot Litep armed with sharp objects, threatened her and other family members with dire consequences.

Arson
Ibanylla Marbaniang lodged a complaint that on January 29 around 12.30 am, her house at Umsohsun, Shillong caught fire and as a result, the interior of the house was destroyed. The complainant suspects the involvement of one Sajjan Kumar Tharad in the incident.
