Poll curbs in Ri Bhoi

SHILLONG: The District Magistrate, Ri Bhoi has informed that defacement of walls of public and private buildings by pasting of election posters, writing of slogans, painting of election symbols etc without the permission of the property owners is strictly prohibited within the district during the election period.
Therefore, the District Magistrate, Ri Bhoi has promulgated an order under Section 144 CrPC and the concerned party/association/ body/candidate/person will be liable under the law for any action done without permission of landowners. This order shall come into force with immediate effect and remain in force until further order.
