BSF organises awareness in human trafficking held

SHILLONG: A workshop on Human Trafficking was organised at Frontier TR Headquarters, BSF in Shillong on Friday. The programme was conducted by Impulse NGO Network, Meghalaya in collaboration with the BSF.
BSF troops from various parts of International Border of the state took part in the workshop.
The objective of the workshop was to enhance and update the knowledge in the field of border guarding and to know the latest development happening in the era of human trafficking.
Sh. Kuldeep Saini, Inspector General said, “As the members of the BSF generally remain on borders and far-flung areas on the International Border, such workshop enables them to familiarise with the latest development and advancement happening in the field of human trafficking, child labour, prostitution, adolescent health and livelihood support of rural craftsperson.”
Rosanna Lyngdoh, Co-founder on the Board of Directors of Impulse, deliberated on human trafficking, child trafficking, HIV/AIDS awareness, adolescent health and livelihood support of rural artisans and shared her experience which she had strong expertise in networking and advocacy, resource assistance and case intervention.
