Another PDF candidate, Auspicious Lyngdoh, is contesting from Mawphlang-Diengei.
Though the election to the KHADC and the JHADC is a lacklustre affair, candidates like Hilarious Warbah (HSPDP-Nongkrem), Holywell Khongstid (Nongshken-NPP) and Labourstarwell Nongrum (Independent-Sohra) give some comical relief.

The intention of World Champion Paliar, NPP candidate from Rambrai Jyrngam, is to become a winner despite all odds, while Goodleaderson Nongsiej (HSPDP-Nongstoin) is keen to lead his flock.
Similarly, Airmarshall Diengngan (Langrin–Congress) commands respect among voters and Marshall Biam (Independent from Bataw-Lakadong, JHADC) is a new entrant.
Besides, Winning Garland Sungoh, UDP candidate from Mowkaiaw (JHADC), is determined to prove his worth.
Morningstar Mawsor (Mawshyrut-PDF), Eveningstar Teron (NPP candidate from Nongjngi under JHADC), Brightstar Chyrmang (NPP, Jowai-North) and Moonlight Pariat of UDP from Jowai-South are the brighter side of the council polls. Equator Nongrang (Mairang-Nongkhlaw-UDP) and Diverland Lyngdoh (Mawkyrwat-NPP) with their fair familiar names are also contesting the polls.
In War-Central constituency of JHADC, Hat Pohchen of UDP will take on Holando Lamin of the Congress.
Money power does not affect Jeweller Synrem of the Congress from Nartiang-Umladang but the party’s War East candidate, Lorsingh Lakuna, is still trying to find out any lacunae in conducting the polls.
Kilometer Lytan is in the race as NPP candidate from Shangpung, while Comely Lyngdoh (Independent from Muthlong Sohkymphor, Helping Phawa (Tuber-PDF) and Planning Rymbai (Musniang Rngat-PDF) are also trying their luck.
In the battle at Shillang-Myntang, Wandame Suchiang of the Congress will take on Heraldson Dkhar of UDP while in Rymbai-Khliehriat, Finelynes Bareh of the UDP and Violet Lyngdoh (NPP) will lock horns.
In Sutnga-Narwan constituency, Hopingstone Bareh of the UDP will fight Viceroyalson Nongtdu of the Congress and in Sumer, Begin Pasleiñ of the Congress will have to catch up with Rollingson Dkhar of the NPP.
