TURA: West Garo Hills District is said to have achieved 100 per cent in the implementation of Measles Rubella Vaccination Campaign conducted from 1st October, 2018.
This was possible under the able leadership of the Deputy Commissioner of West Garo Hills, Ram Singh and the aggressive campaign organized in the district by Health and Family Welfare Department, Tura.
The high achievement in the district was announced during the District Task Force Immunization meeting on MRVC for issuance of Certificate of Completion of MR Campaign at Deputy Commissioner’s Office Chamber, Tura on Thursday evening.
It may be mentioned that out of the total targeted beneficiaries of 17, 2082 in the district, total child vaccinated till date is about 17, 6180. The district crossed the target of 95 per cent coverage and it was informed that the 100 per cent achievement was possible by including those children living in the periphery of the Assam border which was not included in the target list.
Moreover, a total of 360 Rapid Convenience Monitoring (RCM) has been conducted across the district and a total of 8781 children were assessed during the RCM out of which 99.02 per cent children were found to be vaccinated and 0.98 per cent children were found unvaccinated. These unvaccinated children would be covered during the sweeping activity.
Out of the total 1888 schools as per micro plan, sessions were held in 1888 schools and overall percentage coverage of the school in the district is 100 per cent.
