SHILLONG: The BJP has alleged model code violation after the SDO (Civil), Dadenggre, West Garo Hills appointed PDS wholesalers, a day after the announcement of election, violating the model code of conduct.
In a letter addressed to the Chief Electoral Officer on Monday, former Minister and leader of BJP Kisan Morcha K C Boro said the SDO had issued an order allotting wholesales to 27 applicants under Dadenggre Civil Sub-Division clearly violating the election model code of conduct which came into effect on March 10. “This is totally against all government rules and law which is unfortunate and undesirable. As learnt, only to get political mileage and following pressure from the Government, the allotment was done which is irregular, arbitrary and illegal”. Moreover, he said this is against High Court order directing the Additional Chief Secretary in- charge Food and Civil Supplies to finalise the appointment of wholesalers in Tikrikilla within three months. “The SDO Civil Dadenggre has allotted wholesalers which is not only surprising but an indirect challenge to the order of the High Court. I condemn and oppose the action”, Boro said.
He urged the CEO to cancel the allotment order.
