OIL to facilitate Technology Incubation Centre at GU

GUWAHATI: Gauhati University and Oil India Limited (OIL) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) at the Gauhati University here on Tuesday to extend the facility of Technology Incubation Centre at Gauhati University as part of Flagship National Programme of Start up India.

Gauhati University has already constituted a Technology Incubation Centre (TIC) which is working towards fostering industry-academia linkages and formulating an ecosystem for startups and incubator.

The Registrar, Gauhati University, Prof. Nani Gopal  Mahanta was the signatory on behalf of Gauhati University while Executive Director, Corporate Affairs, OIL ,  Dr. Rahul Dasgupta, signed on  behalf  of  Oil India Limited.

The MoU signing event was attended by Dr. Mridul Hazarika, Vice Chancellor, Gauhati University, besides top officials the university and the OIL.

The MoU has been an outcome of the Industry-Academia Interaction Programme held at Gauhati University in April, 2018 at the initiative of Utpal Bora, CMD-OIL and Dr. Mridul Hazarika, Vice Chancellor, Gauhati University.
