SGH DC issues prohibitory orders

TURA: In view of the ensuing Lok Sabha Election,  the District Election Officer, South Garo Hills (SGH) District has promulgated Section 144 crPC in the entire district of South Garo Hills prohibiting the carrying of any type of arms and explosive until the election process is over.

The order also prohibits the displaying of flags or stickers in any private or commercial vehicles or in any premises, wall writing, pasting of posters/papers or defacement in any other form or erecting/ displaying of cutouts, hoardings, banners, flags etc., on any government premises.

In a separate order, the District Magistrate also directed all arms licence holders to deposit their arms immediately at the nearest police station or police outposts for the smooth conduct of the election.
