Awareness programme on mental illness held

NONGSTOIN: District Mental Health Programme under the theme ‘Mental Health Matters: Aware, Accept & Assist’ was organised by the office of the District Medical & Health Officer, West Khasi Hills at Bishop Hall on Tuesday.
The programme was attended by Deputy Commissioner T. Lyngwa as chief guest, Dr. Sandy Syiem, Director San-Ker as the resource person and others who were present include the Sordar headmen, doctors from the CHC,PHCs, students and the locals.
Speaking at the programme, Lyngwa lauded Dr. R. Marwein for organising the event which will be of great help to the rural folk, ignorance of the signs and symptoms of mental illness.
