SHILLONG: The five-day Budget session of the Khasi Hills Autonomous District Council (KHADC) will begin from March 25.
Deputy CEM and in-charge Finance, Pyniaid Sing Syiem is likely to present the budget on the first day of the session. He said the amount of Rs 111 crore, which was earmarked by the Centre for the three autonomous district councils, would be reflected in the budget. When contacted, KHADC CEM Teinwell Dkhar confirmed the budget session will be held from March 25 to 29.Informing that the filing of nominations for the post of Deputy Chairman is scheduled on March 26, he said that the election will be held on March 27.
The KHADC CEM further informed that the ruling Democratic Alliance has decided to field Mawsynram NPP MDC Alvin Sawkmie for the post.
Replying to a query, he said no bill will be tabled during the session.
