SHILLONG: The state government has increased the number of registration kits for the fourth phase of the Meghalaya Health Insurance Scheme from 130 to 300 to speed up the process of enrolment.
Health Secretary Pravin Bakshi said on Saturday 1.98 lakh residents have registered for the scheme so far.
“We want to reassure that nobody will be left out and since we already have the database of beneficiaries, each and every citizen of Meghalaya will be covered,” Bakshi said.
It may be mentioned that 3.47 lakh beneficiaries will be covered under the Ayushman Bharat – Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana and the remaining 7 lakh will be covered by MHIS.
The state intends to provide health cover of Rs 5 lakh to all the families, barring state and central government employees. The benefits of this convergence can be availed at empanelled health facilities in the state as well as outside.
