Skill training programme for rural youths held

 TURA: A six day skill training programme for rural youths was conducted by ICAR, KVK, Tura, West Garo Hills on “Pig Rearing and Management” at KVK  from March 16 to 21.

 The training programme was conducted in association with State Agricultural Management & Extension Training Institute (SAMETI), Meghalaya and National Institute of Agricultural Extension Management (MANAGE), Hyderabad for the rural youths of Garo Hills to make them capable to adopt pig farming as income generating activity.

 Doctors spoke on different topics during the programme of whom included, Dr Sagarika Bora, KVK, Dr Eldora Ch Momin, A.H. & Vety. Officer, East Garo Hills, Dr Donme M. Sangma, A.H. & Vety. Officer, Vigilance Unit, Tura and Dr Ram Narayan Patil, VAS (Sector Officer), BSF, Dobasipara, Tura during the technical sessions.

 An exposure visit was done to Gindo Pig Breeding Unit, West Garo Hills, Meghalaya for practical demonstration of the trainees. Valedictory function was held on 21st March 2019 in presence of SS & Head, KVK and certificates were distributed among the participants.
