SHILLONG: The Films Division of India and NEHU are organising a 10-day film making workshop from March 25 to April 3 and will organise a three-day Mumbai Film Festival (MIFF) at the Old Guest House auditorium in NEHU from April 1-3.
Addressing the press on Monday, director of Films Division, V. Packirisamy said the aim of the workshop and the festival is to create an interest in the people of Meghalaya to watch award winning films.
Asked, he said there are good documentary filmmakers in the state and they can compete with other filmmakers as well.
He informed that the Films Division of the Government of India encourages films of different kinds.
The workshop will be only for the students of NEHU, Department of Journalism and Mass Communication.
