MMA workshop for women held

NONGPOH: A two-day theme-based awareness programme and workshop on Mixed Martial Arts (MMA), fitness and self defence was organised by the Nehru Yuva Kendra Sangathan (NYKS), Nongpoh in collaboration with Ground and Pound MMA Gym on Monday.
The workshop was held in order to make young women aware and prepared to face the consequences of women discrimination that include assault and molestation.
Over 54 women from different villages attended the workshop.They were taught and trained to implement the proficiency of MMA when under threat. Others who were present include instructors Anthony Syiem, Daniel Damlong, Apdalin Marwein and Jennyfer Ingti, R Myrchiang, District Youth Coordinator, NYKS, Lansius Syiemlieh, President of the Ground and Pound MMA Gyms and Head Coach Cores Marwein.
