SHILLONG: Sputnik CC on top while Shaisngi takes 8 wickets on first day. Sputnik CC declared their first innings at 316 for 9 wickets against Riatsamthiah SCC at the end of the day’s play in the innings match of second semi finals of the Shillong League Super Division organised by the Shillong Cricket Association at Polo Grounds Shillong. Toss won by Riatsamthiah SCC & elected to bowl first on a 1st gloomy morning. Sputnik CC batting 1st scored 316/9 declared in 77.3 overs. Amiangshu Sen batted brilliantly and scored 98 runs off 155 balls and Chaman Pushp also batted equally well and scored 90 runs of 113 balls. Shaisngi Lyngdoh was devastating with the ball as he took 8 wkts and Praveen got 1 wkt. In reply,Riatsamthiah (1st innings) were 15/1 in 3.0 overs at the end of day 1 when umpires called off due to bad lights. Riatsamthiah SCC lost their main batsman who dominated in the qualifying matches Anish Charak who was dismissed cheaply for 13 runs off 10 balls. Ibitlang Thabah (batting) 2 runs off 6 balls and Rijied Marbaniang (batting) 0 runs off 2balls will have to build up their innings for Riatsamthiah in their first innings. Abhay Negi got 1 wkt.
