Agartala: The Congress candidate for East Tripura Lok Sabha seat Rajkumari Pragya has filed her nomination in Ambassa accompanied by hundreds of followers and top leaders of state congress.
Addressing the gathering after filing nomination Pragya sought vote for ending up the sufferings of common people under Narendra Modi’s rule and bring a meaningful change in the development.
She alleged that pace of development in Northeast has not yet reached at expected level in spite of all ‘tall talks’ of Modi.
‘The indigenous and marginalized section of people of the region have been facing a crisis for maintaining a livelihood. In the name of Citizenship (Amendment) Bill (CAB), BJP wanted to evict religious minority in the region and create chaos but we prevented it. If BJP led government comes back, the bill will be passed, will disturb the peace and development of Northeast,’ She highlighted.
Pragya pointed out that Congress has already made a commitment to scrap CAB immediately after formation of Congress-led government to ensure the secular principle of Indian constitution and implement minimum income guarantee scheme for the poor people besides, many other revolutionary pro-people steps.
‘Most of the poll promises of BJP were not implemented by the Modi government in last five years rather they cheated the people.
The country has been suffering from a serious crisis of employment opportunity but in the name of skill development and entrepreneurship development, thousands of crores of rupees have been looted but people did not get any benefit,’ Pragya alleged. (UNI)
The PCC president Pradyot Kishore announced that Congress president Rahul Gandhi will address another rally here while Priyanka Gandhi and other top leaders of Congress will campaign for Congress candidates in the state. UNI BB RN
