910918 Aadhaar cards issued in Meghalaya so far

SHILLONG: As many as 910918  Aadhaar cards have been issued in Meghalaya  till date and the statewide Aadhaar saturation stands at 31 percent.

In East Khasi Hills, a total of  390971  Aadhaar cards have been issued with a saturation of  47  percent whereas  206285 cards have been issued in   West Garo Hills with a saturation of  32  percent.

In South Garo Hills, the saturation level is at 12  percent after issuing 17653  cards  while in Ri Bhoi district, the saturation is 20 percent with distribution of 51961 Aadhaar cards

It may be mentioned that  many people from the Khasi-Jaintia Hills region  few years back  had joined the campaign against Aadhaar  and many people had come to sign the documents for opting out of Aadhaar.
