ID cards mandatory for upcoming LS polls

Shillong: The District Election Officer, West Jaintia Hills on Saturday advised the voters of the district to carry their Election Photo Identity Card (EPIC) on the day of polling.
However, if an individual does not possess a valid EPIC, they can also carry a passport, driving licence, service identity card with photograph issued by central or state government, public sector undertaking or public limited companies, passbook with photograph issued by banks or post office, PAN card, MGNREGA job card, smart card issued by RGI under NPR, health-insurance smart card issued under the scheme of Ministry of Labour, official identity cards issued by MPs, MLAs or MDC, or a valid adhaar card.
