SHILLONG: Congress President Rahul Gandhi’s election tour scheduled for April 4 next to Shillong has been cancelled, according to party sources here.

It may be because of the change in the schedule of the Congress President, who is expected  to reach Wayanad in Kerala on April 4 to file his nomination for the Lok Sabha elections.

The Congress has fielded sitting MP. Vincent Pala from Shillong Lok Sabha constituency while former Chief Minister Dr Mukul Sangma is the party candidate from Tura Lok Sabha constituency.

Election to both the parliamentary constituencies in Meghalaya will be held on April  11 next.
