Shillong: The Meghalaya SSA School Association (MSSASA) Central Body in a statement issued on Sunday expressed their concern stating that a person forwarded a piece of fake information on April 4 to a WhatsApp group named ‘Pillangkatta CRC SSA School Teacher group’.
The fake information was written and spread by an unknown person using the name of the teacher’s association, MSSASA central body and the name of its president Aristotle C Rymbai.
The message that left the SSA teachers irked and bewildered read “Congratulations: our pending arrears 2016-17, four months has released on Friday evening. All districts of Meghalaya received it on the Saturday evening. Our fight shall continue, for due four months’ arrears”.The same message was also forwarded to another WhatsApp group namely ‘Dongkiingding CRC group’ by a person name Stiborsingh Kjana.
The president of Meghalaya SSA School Association, Central Body, Aristotle C Rymbai said that the intention behind circulating the fake news was to spoil the image of the association and his reputation as a president. Rymbai further said that it also intended to incite negativity in the minds of the SSA teachers towards the association.
The association also warned that if such incidents happen again, the association will file a complaint to the authority concerned and take legal action against the culprit.
