NGO meets Pathaw on labour license

SHILLONG: The United Hynniewtrep Movement (UHM) met the Executive Member (EM) in-charge of Labour, UDP MDC Teibor Pathaw to discuss on allotting Labour license to private entity.
Pathaw informed them that the lease to a private person is to due to the lack of manpower in the department. At the same time, the organisation discussed with the EM to direct contractors to employ local labourers instead of outsiders.
On the other hand, the organisation will conduct an awareness campaign and urged the contractors to cooperate to prevent influx of illegal migrants.
