College student flees after assault

TURA: A North Eastern Hill University (NEHU) student from the Tura campus has gone missing after she fled following an attack on her by a youth who waylaid her on the way home on Saturday evening.
According to the police complaint filed by the university authorities, student Miss Chinu R Sangma was coming back with another student from classes to the Working Womens’ Hostel in Mission Compound when she was accosted by a youth who attacked her at around 5:30 in the evening.
Following the attack, the girl fled from the scene and did not return leading to the filing of a missing report by the authorities.
