Assam Governor releases Coffee Table Book of Raj Bhavan

GUWAHATI:  In a move to document the events and activities took place in Raj Bhavan and outside during the tenure of the present Governor, a coffee table book which chronicled the journey so far of the present Governor Prof. Jagdish Mukhi in Raj Bhavan Assam, was released at a function held at the conference hall of Raj Bhavan today.

The book brought out by the Governor’s Secretariat was formally released by the Governor, in presence of the First Lady Smt. Prem Mukhi, Advisor of Education department Prof. Mihir Kanti Choudhury, Director General of police Kuladhar Saikia, Additional Chief Secretary Home and Political Kumar Sanjay Krishna, Vice Chancellors of the state Universities and other dignitaries.

The book titled ‘Prof.Jagdish Mukhi…an Inspiration’ highlights various initiatives taken by the Governor in areas of education, health, regional development, etc during the last one year in office. The book features pictorial illustrations that the Governor unleashed for the all round development of the state. It also depicts the representation of the sequel of events that took place during Governor’s visit to all the 33 district that he had already undertaken in the state.

The book also enumerates the Governor’s initiatives of implementing Central and State government sponsored schemes for all the 33 districts of the state and the special emphasis that he attaches for generating awareness on ‘swachhata’.

The function was attended by Director of Information and Public Relations Anupam Choudhury, Director of Printing and Stationery Neera Sonowal, environmentalist Purnima Devi Barman, representatives of various religious and social organisations and officers and staff of Raj Bhavan among others.
