Man arrested for extortion

JOWAI : West Jaintia Hills Police arrested a person who attempted to extort Rs 2 lakh from his own employer.
“He called his employer with an unknown number, threathened to burn his vehicle and also to kill him if he failed to pay the amount,” police sources said.
The arrested person was identified as Everist Dkhar (26) of Pasyih village.
The police had set a trap for him at Rajasthan Hotel on Wednesday when he came to collect the money. Though he had escaped at first, he was identified and police arrested him at his wife’s residence on Thursday.
