SHILLONG: The BJP has asserted that the party will win at least 330-340 seats in the Lok Sabha elections. The results of the election will be declared on May 23.
Speaking to newsmen after the meeting of the core committee of the party here on Tuesday, BJP candidate for Shillong seat, Sanbor Shullai said, “ In the last election we got 282 seats and this time we will get 330-340 seat.”
On the other hand, the Committee also decided to send few members of the party from Meghalaya to Delhi soon after May 23 to celebrate the party’s victory in the elections
On the other hand, BJP state president, Shibun Lyngdoh said that the party was confident of winning the Shillong seat even as he informed that the party had done an assessment of its performance.
“For Shillong seat, we have high hopes that the people have voted for development,” he said.
When asked if CAB has played the spoilsport for BJP in the region, he said that the issue of CAB was shut and there was no issue as the Government did not table the Bill in Rajya Sabha. “it is a dead issue,” he added.
