SHILLONG: The North Eastern Hill University Student’s Union (NEHUSU) will organize a rally and a sit-in in the university on May 21 to protest against the alleged wrong marks given to students from different colleges in different semester exams.
NEHUSU finance secretary informed that they were contacted by a student from a city college, who got zero marks in the English semester exam though her marks in the previous semester was good.
After this incident, NEHUSU asked other students if they got similar results and many came forward to re-evaluate their papers.
According to the finance secretary, when the matter was taken up with the Controller of Examination, they were informed that they can re-evaluate only a few papers and not all which irked the union.
He said that many of the students from third and fifth semesters are facing this problem as they are getting less marks even if they are good students
To oppose this, NEHUSU will also convene a general body meeting on May 20. The affected students along with their parents will also attend it. On May 21 , they will first organise a rally followed by a sit- in demonstration.
