KHADC approves hike in application fee for industries

SHILLONG: Khasi Hill Autonomous District Council (KHADC) has approved the proposal of enhancement of land patta (documents) and application fees for industries which is set to boost the revenue of the Council.

Informing this here, KHADC Executive Member (EM) Land, Titoswell Chyne said he had made proposal and it was approved by the Executive Committee (EC) with an intention to revamp the Land department.

The department has initiated to revise the rate and the EC has decided to enhance the patta fees from Rs 10 to Rs 200. Chyne informed that the last fee revision was in 2011.

Again, in an effort to revamp the department, the EM has proposed to procure some of the equipment utilised by the department such as GPS, map printing equipment, total station used by land surveyors.

In connection with the report of NOC being issued by the secretary of Hima Nongspung to Assam government, Chyne said a stringent instruction would be issued to traditional heads not toissue NOC without approval from the KHADC.
