C&RD minister wants timely disbursement of funds

TURA: Community and Rural Development Minister Sniawbhalang Dhar on Monday urged stakeholders to implement all rural schemes at the earliest and ensure timely disbursement of funds for the upliftment of the welfare of poor.
The minister held a review meeting on rural development schemes with Project Directors and Block Development Officers of the five districts of Garo Hills at the Conference Hall of DRDA in Tura.
Rural Schemes such as MNREGA, NRLM, PMAY-G, NSAP, DDUGKY and progress of projects under Article 275 (1) were reviewed during the meeting where he advocated the implementing agencies to expedite performance especially in the underperforming blocks, checks their progress and rectify shortcomings in the process of implementation of schemes.
Sampath Kumar who highlighted the importance of rural schemes pointed out that on one of his village visits he experienced that there are many developmental projects that must be taken up in order to fulfill the aim of improving the lives of the rural poor.
He sought the cooperation of the stakeholders for the successful execution of the rural schemes.
Kumar was accompanied by Commissioner and Secretary C&RD, P. Sampath Kumar and Secretary C&RD, I.R.Sangma.
