APCC suspends Gautom Roy

GUWAHATI:  Veteran Congress leader from Barak Valley region of Assam and a former long-term Cabinet minister of Assam, Gautom Roy and another senior Congress leader, Ramen Borthakur have been suspended from the party for ‘anti-party activities’ by a resolution adopted in the extended executive meeting of Assam Pradesh Congress Committee on Saturday.

A senior spokesman of the APCC, Apurba Kumar Bhattacharjee informed that the APCC would forward the resolution to the AICC for its approval as both the leader are also members of the AICC.

The extended executive of the APCC on Saturday further warned that all the party leaders who have spoken against party leaders before the media and social media would be served show cause by the APCC for their unwarranted activities.
