Vehicle stolen, found later by locals

Nongpoh: A sumo parked at a compound of a post office in Nongpoh was stolen on the wee hours of Wednesday around 1 pm by unknown miscreants, who are suspected to be involved in various vehicle theft cases in the district in the past.
The Sumo bearing registration number ML05 F8521, owned by Ram Khelawan Sah, was later found by the villagers of Killing area at 13 Mer-Killing road abandoned by the miscreants.
Suspected to be a stolen vehicle, the villagers informed the police, who went and took the vehicle into custody and later, handed it over to the owner.
It was also learnt that the stereo player of the vehicle was missing from the sumo and that the miscreants involved were experienced ones as they manipulated the wiring of the vehicle to start the engine without using keys.
The owner had filed and FIR in this regard and a police investigation is on to apprehend the miscreants.
