Two labourers kidnapped in WGH, one returns safely

TURA: Two persons working as labourers near Jengjal in West Garo Hills were reportedly kidnapped by unidentified miscreants on June 16 even as one of the victims has managed to return safely on June 18.

According to a delayed report, Jaidur Rahman (23) from Katlamari and Shahadud Ali (30)from Chairajhar, both under Lakhipur PS in Goalpara District of Assam were taken away by two unidentified miscreants on the night of June 16 at around 11-12 pm from the new construction site of the BSF Camp near Jengjal in West Garo Hills. The two workers were taken away by two unarmed persons who left their faces uncovered. A motor bike belonging to one of the victims was also taken away at the time.

Interestingly, one of the victims, Jaidur Rahman managed to return back safely on June 18 while the second victim continues to be untraceable.Meanwhile, police sources informed that an extensive search and rescue operation is underway and efforts are on to rescue the missing worker and nab the culprits. An FIR in this regard has also been filed on June 21.
