TURA: Organizations from East Garo Hills including the GSU, FKJGP, AAYF and the Williamnagar Government College Students’ Union (WGCSU) which are demanding the immediate appointment of a full time Principal at Williamnagar Government College have given the authorities three weeks time to act on their demand.

Earlier, the four organizations had launched a two day picketing of the deputy commissioner’s office on Tuesday, which was later called off after assurance was received from the DC. The organizations, who are now on wait and watch mode have said that they would not hesitate to restart their agitation if the authorities failed to act within three weeks time.“The appointment of a full time Principal at the college is of utmost importance to the students and we are now waiting to see what actions the government takes within the given time frame. If the government fails to keep its assurance, we will have no other options but to resort to a fresh round of agitations,” the organizations warned.
