Buying of coal from outside opposed

SHILLONG: The East Jaintia National Council (EJNC) – central executive council registered their opposition against the cement companies for procuring coal from outside the state.
In a statement issued here, the council extended their support to the All Jaintia Cement & Clinker Transporters’ Association (AJCCTA) and Coal Suppliers Association (CSA) Company in East Jaintia Hills.
President of EJNC, Sambormi Lyngdoh said procuring coal from outside the state will hamper the activities of local coal traders.
On the other hand, it also expressed gratitude to Chief Minister Conrad Sangma and Lber Laloo for the efforts made in lifting the coal ban.
