PM Modi calls up Sonowal to take stock of flood

GUWAHATI: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday took stock of the flood situation in Assam where as many as 28 districts have been devastated by the current wave of flood taking heavy toll on property, surface communication infrastructure as well as life.

The Prime Minister had a telephonic discussion with Assam Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal and took stock of with the prevailing condition perpetrated by the current wave of flood in the state, a source in the CMO here informed.

Chief Minister Sonowal apprised Prime Minister Modi of the latest situation emanating from the recent spate of flood in both Brahmaputra and Barak valleys of the state.

Sonowal also briefed the Prime Minister about the relief, rescue and rehabilitation work unleashed by the State government in view of the flood.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi assured all help and cooperation to the State to deal with the situation.
